Key points from the Annual Meeting included the approval of our updated By-Laws, the re-affirmation of our committee structures and committee progress over the year, and the annual elections (Elected Officers noted above!).  The detailed minutes from the meeting will be forthcoming!

The meeting closed noting the schedule for 2026 meetings will be released this month, and all are asked to please review same to confirm your ability to attend - in person - or virtually!

CLUB HOLIDAY PARTY!
December 13, 2025

Did you miss it?  Kathi & Peter opened their home once again for a magnificent GWBdFC Holiday Party (and a bit of business at our Annual Meeting). The day started off with wonderful cheese and crackers (thank you RuthAnn / Rich) that were topped off with a Greek medley of pimento cheese, humous, stuffed olives and dolma with warmed pita (wow - great Mike).  As more folks came and joined in, more food, drinks and fun took place. Midge and AJ joined in, together with Joan ensuring glasses filled, wine raffle separated and dirty-Santa gifts piling up!  Peter figured out that Chunk and Bunny would add a special Bouvier-touch to the party!

Ensuring that no-one could leave hungry, Kathi coordinated a spread reflecting both northern restraint and southern opulence. Plates white as Scandinavian snow lay crisp, rimmed in Florentine gold. While Swedish meatballs begged to share the plates with the rich southern Italian pasta laced with meat and cheese. Salad, warm bread all set ones dish balanced in elegance with warmth.

Deserts?  Lisa made sure the holiday spirit continued with home-made holiday cookies that were rustic, aromatic treats—deeply brown in color (perhaps from molasses or brown sugar). They were softly crisp at the edges, chewy in the center, and carried a quiet warmth: butter, spice, and earthiness.   For contrast, Toshiko provided individual fruit-topped cheesecakes with rich cream, each arrived like small celebrations: pale, velvety rounds of cheese filling resting on buttery bases, their surfaces crowned with jewel-bright fruit. Each bite balancing lush richness with clean, refreshing brightness.

A feast from beginning to desserts that lingered—indulgent yet lifted, meant to be savored slowly, spoon by spoon.

Great Times - Great Fun - culminating with a Wine Draw - Basket Raffle and the club's infamous DIRTY SANTA to top the day off.

We Especially Love Our Bouviers

The Greater Washington Bouvier des Flandres Club is the regional club, approved by AKC under the auspices of our Parent Club; the American Bouvier des Flandres Club ("ABdFC"). We're devoted to the Bouvier and hope to be able to educate you, share with you, and excite you about this amazing breed.

We constantly marvel at the innate ability of this magnificent breed. Their instincts to herd, pull carts, scent work and sentry is a marvel to behold. Our goal is for all dog owners to be able to experience these and other attributes of their best friend as a team by participating in trials, workshops, seminars, and training sessions. To this end, all breeds, including mixed breeds are welcome and encouraged to participate.

We hope you will join us, whether you own a Bouvier, another breed or no dog at all. Please visit our Membership Benefits page to discover how and why you should become a member! We have held the membership to $20 per year and as we grow, so will the value you will receive from the Greater Washington Bouvier des Flandres Club.
